Like so many of you, we watched in horror as wildfires once again broke out across Greece following a historical heatwave of temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius. These fires continue to burn around Athens and in other parts of Greece, where thousands of homes have already been evacuated and large swathes of forest areas have been burnt to the ground.

As the wildfires continue to blaze, the devastating effect they are having on the animals of Greece is becoming worse by the day. Companion animals, wildlife, farm animals… they are all in grave danger.

Although impossible to quantify the damage so far, it’s likely that thousands of animals have already perished while countless more injured or having lost their homes.

What can you do to help?

We are urgently appealing for donations to help us support the rescue and rehabilitation efforts happening on the ground.

Our focus at the moment is to provide medical supplies to our local partners ANIMA, who are leading the way in wildlife rescue, and Alma Libre, who are working tirelessly to save as many animals as they can across the capital, as well as supporting the two mobile clinics that have been set up to treat companion animals in Galatsi and Vouliagmeni.

No matter how big or small, every donation will make a difference, so please consider giving whatever you can to help the voiceless victims of these devastating fires.

Without us, they have no one.

We’ll be posting updates as we get them via social media, so please keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

As always, thank you for your support.
