Operating all over Athens, plus further afield when required, Alma Libre is a small but mighty network of volunteers who attend emergency callouts at all times of night or day. From road traffic accidents to infected, bloody wounds and everything in between, the Alma Libre team ensure no animal in distress goes unnoticed or untreated.

Depending on where the animal is located, one of Alma Libre’s volunteers will be on the scene as soon as possible to remove the animal from danger and, if necessary, seek ongoing treatment with local veterinarians or shelters with space. They really are on the frontlines of animal rescue, which is why we’re honoured to be supporting their heroic efforts through the Local Partnership Programme. After all, such rescue efforts can be costly and with so many animals in need, that cost soon mounts up.
