How to create a simple ‘Wish List’ with online shops

Looking for a free and easy way to receive the supplies you need — without having to ask for money? Creating a wish list of items you use regularly (like food, litter, medicine, or bedding) is a great way to let your supporters help you in a very practical way.

Why It works:

  • Some supporters feel more comfortable donating items instead of money.
  • People like knowing exactly how their donation is helping.
  • It gives you a reason to post on social media regularly (“We’ve just added kitten milk to our wishlist!”).

How to set it up:

Step 1: Choose a platform

Pick a site your supporters already use, such as:

  • Skroutz.gr (works well in Greece and often has free shipping)
  • Zooplus.gr (great for pet-specific items)
  • Amazon.de or Amazon.co.uk (if your supporters are international)

Step 2: Add your most-needed items

Think:

  • Wet and dry food
  • Flea and worm treatments
  • Bowls, blankets, litter
  • Pet carriers, cleaning supplies, even printer ink!

Try to include a mix of lower-cost and essential items.

Step 3: Make it easy to find

  • Add the link to your social media bios and your website
  • Post it regularly (once a week or during special appeals)
  • Include it in your WhatsApp groups and Facebook posts

One group in Northern Greece shared a wishlist for kitten milk and within 3 days, 12 boxes had arrived from supporters across the country — all because of one Facebook post.

So, what are you waiting for, set up your list today!
