Greek Animal Rescue Joins Forces with AAG

We are working with volunteers in Topeiros, Northern Greece, to ease the suffering of more than 600 homeless dogs struggling to survive on a rubbish site.

It is a harrowing situation which is going to require a significant and sustained effort.

We are therefore thrilled to share that we have joined forces with fellow UK registered charity Greek Animal Rescue to support the work being led in Greece by  the team from Angels Garden, a local shelter.

“The number of homeless dogs and the extent of need at the rubbish site is beyond any single organisation to address, so I am delighted that we have agreed to jointly fund the work in Topieros in collaboration with Greek Animal Rescue,” said Animal Action Greece, Chief Executive, Joseph Nhan-O’Reilly.

“Working together in this way saves time, effort and will raise more money that can be used to relieve the suffering among the dogs in Topeiros,” said Andrew Tomes of Greek Animal Rescue.

“We have already jointly funded medicine and food for the Topeiros dogs, so it makes sense to build on that collaboration and fund the plan to sterilise the dogs and treat those that are ill, as well as rescue and rehome the puppies.”

“Working together in this way will make a bigger difference than we could have achieved alone,” said Joseph.
