On April 29th-30th 2017, our vet, Michael Gaganis, and farrier, Giannis Brastianos, visited the island of Paros where they examined and treated 40 working equines. Sadly, Michael and Giannis came upon many cases of “hobbling” that had resulted in many deformed hooves. Giannis treated all animals immediately and together with Michael they tried to persuade as many owners as possible to stop using this dangerous and unnecessary practice. Apart from the much-needed farriery services, the team examined all animals, providing dental and vet treatment to all equids in need. Another successful trip for our team.
