Wildfires are continuing to devastate parts of Greece, threatening communities, destroying habitats and placing countless animals in danger.
This is why today we are launching our emergency Wildfire Appeal.

For our team, this crisis has already become deeply personal.
As wildfires spread across the island of Paros, our Community Cat Care Project Manager, Flora joined local animal welfare organisations and volunteers in an urgent effort to evacuate cats a local cat sanctuary.
Cats and kittens were transported to safety in whatever crates were available. Volunteers opened their homes, shared equipment and worked side by side late into the night. Although many cats were rescued, some were too frightened to be caught and had to be left behind with the sanctuary doors open, giving them the best possible chance to escape if the fire reached them.
Flora described the moment she saw the evacuated cats together:
“They were frightened, exhausted and crowded into temporary crates, but they had been given a chance because people had refused to leave them behind.”
We are in close contact with our team, partners and animal welfare organisations on the ground as the fires continue to rage.
The situation can change rapidly, and being able to act quickly is vital. Your donation will help us respond to urgent animal welfare needs, support trusted local partners and ensure help can reach vulnerable animals when they need it most.
Please donate today.
We will do our best to provide updates across our social media channels as we receive them. For now, we can only hope that the fires are brought under control quickly and that the devastation is not as severe as feared.
Thank-you as always for your continued support for the animals.
