CALLING FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION ON MINK FARMS

Despite supposedly strict measures being in place on EU mink farms, coronavirus has spread to more than 370 mink farms across 9 countries, including 10 in Greece.

Millions of mink have already been ‘preventatively’ culled but the virus still poses a huge risk to both animal and human life.

Animal Action Greece has co-signed a letter by Eurogroup for Animals calling on the European Commission to immediately suspend the breeding of mink throughout the Union and urge Member States to take action to permanently prohibit fur production and/or bring forward existing phase-out dates for fur farming.
